Organized, scheduled events that gather people are effective for evangelism. These gatherings can take the place of forums which tackle controversial issues, events that showcase music, movies, or other creative approaches. These events can end with a gospel presentation, or be used to collect contact information to follow up with those who filled out response cards. Below is a list of “gathering” evangelism ideas.
Many people try to accept Jesus as their savior, but struggle with His Lordship. Have you accepted Christ as Lord of your life? Well, if you have then tell your entire campus how God has changed your life and caused you to do a “180”. *(There are 360 degrees in a circle and to turn halfway around you must do a “180”…think back to 10th grade geometry y’all).
Place posters, hand out flyers, and wear t-shirts or buttons that say “180” or “I did a 180” on them. If you have posters or flyers just put 180 on it and the date, time, and location of the event. The “180” time shouldn’t last longer than a hour and a half. Your “180” event should include pre-planned testimonies from 2-4 individuals who have done a “180” in their lives because of the Lord. In addition to the testimonies there should be someone who presents a clear presentation of the gospel. Use the time after that for members of your Impact Movement to answer any questions people have as well as to individually share the gospel and go over The Passage booklet with people.

Da Real Truth’s Religion Forum
Da Real Truth is a place to engage your social consciousness and take your thinking to a higher level through articles that address real issues African Americans are experiencing on the college campus, in the community and in the world today. So, let’s get real, find truth and meet God.
Visit Da Real Truth and choose an issue featured in one of the site’s articles for your group to read together. Have a forum discussing this piece. You will need to reserve a place for your forum to go down if you don’t have a one. Pass out DaRealTruth.com flyers and handbills for your event. Present the gospel at the end of the forum and give out response cards so you can follow up with people who’ve attended the event.
Movie Outreach & Discussion
Watch a movie during Black History Month and discuss it with students on your campus.
Sponsor a movie somewhere on your campus relating to Black History. After the movie discuss it and explain its relevance to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Pass out The Passagebooklets as an aid and let people know they are welcome to stay after to hear more about the gospel. Have somebody follow-up with each person who stays and share the gospel with him or her. Be sure to pass out questionnaires getting feedback about the movie time and ask them to fill it out before they leave. The questionnaires should include a place that asks if they are interested in knowing more about the gospel and a place for their contact information.

How to Have Good Sex
Valentine’s Day is coming up and some people are talking about sex. Let’s see what the Bible says about sex and how to make it great.
Organize a meeting, panel discussion, or a forum about what the Bible says about sex and why you should wait until marriage. Explain that marriage is God’s only plan for great sex. Get students in your Impact Movement to facilitate this time as well as use it to get contacts to follow students up on your campus.
- Candy to pass out (optional)
- Contact Cards
- Statistics about married people and sex. (Stats show that married people rated sex better than singles)
More than a Makeover
Hey ladies, why not host a makeover party that can not only spruce up someone on the outside, but also completely transform someone on the inside? You can invite women from your dorm floor or your neighborhood, give free makeovers and share the gospel at the end.
